  "I can't say enough good things about Kamal as a teacher! He is dynamic and creative in his methods, he knows the subject well and teaches it wonderfully and has a great personality in class room. He pushed us to learn and speak in Arabic which other teachers were reluctant to do."

Second, he breaks his class in different distinct parts, worm-up, etc. He uses creativity in his handouts. His own created website and worksheets are respectable and good. He was very patient every day and easy to interact with. His personal style was gentle which was helpful."

Kamal is incredibly dedicated and hardworking. He is truly a great teacher who is always innovating new ways to teach more effectively! Perhaps he could develop curriculum the other listening classes, too.

Kamal is a great teacher. The atmosphere of the class is relaxed and friendly, although decievingly so, because Kamal does expect a lot from his students. This class also taught me that I really need to work on my fusha speech, and gave me a lot of time to practice it.

We all felt very lucky to have Kamal as our instructor - his classes were always lively, even at the end of the semester when we were all burnt out (including him). He has a very creative teaching style and I appreciated the emphasis on cultural literacy - slang, sayings, popular phrases, songs, movies, etc. that went beyond simply being able to speak grammatically. Kamal was also extremely prompt and enthusiastic in correcting our work, both written and oral. He corrected every written assignment within a day of our turning it in, and would ask us to come individually or in groups to see him during office hours (ie. lunch) to give us feedback on oral exams and our weekly skits. This feedback was vital so that we avoided repeating our errors in the usage of slang and vocabulary. He was also very open in telling us whether phrases or words might be misinterpreted or taken out of context, and I'm sure we have all saved ourselves from embarrassment because of this. He fostered a real sense of comraderie among the students and between himself and his students and this created a really nice social aspect to the summer program.

Great teacher; very approachable and willing to help the students. Friendly with the students--transcends the traditional teacher student boundaries. Great teacher!

This is a great course. I really enjoyed it. The structure of the course was great, especially how the classes were run.
